The Uniteam Marine Training Centre is in Yangon where UNITEAM YACHTING crew receive STCW basic training as well as ISM and ISPS familiarisation prior to joining. New entrants to yachting are put through a large yacht familiarisation course and depending upon their specialisation, trainees also attend yacht specific seamanship, technical or catering classes. In addition catering crew may gain further experience at one of the company's hotels. Where required yacht crew can pass through the company's advanced Maritime English Language Training Centre, which incorporates a Marlins / ISF / MCA approved English Language Test Centre.
The Training Centre has the following facilities:
Bridge Simulator
The UNITEAM MARINE Full Mission Manoeuvring Simulator with 230 degree view, encompasses all the individual units necessary for navigation related training to be carried out.
ECDIS Simulator
With Electronic chart display systems fitted to most yachts this simulator will make sure the deck officers meet the required standards in their use.
Engine Room Simulator
To establish a thorough understanding of the response to adjustments in every part of the engine room, our special Engine Room Simulator enables our Engineers to train, through interaction and monitoring functions, for normal machinery operations as well as simulated accident and emergency scenarios, reflecting the reality of situations experienced on board.
Crane Simulator
The crane simulator provides specialised deck crew training in an area that is not covered by STCW and many yacht crew have had little exposure to.
Engineering Workshop
Our fully equipped workshop, combined with classroom theory allows our experienced instructors to provide a comprehensive training programme for onboard technical staff, which can reduce maintenance costs by avoiding repairs by a shipyard or shore personnel.
Seamanship
Seamanship training will provide deckhands with knowledge of ropework, working aloft and overside, as well as maintenance of paintwork and wooden decking. In addition training can cover the safe handling of tenders and jet skis.
Safety
Fire fighting courses are held in our own smoke house. Class room training can be carried out in relation to emergency situations, such as collision, grounding and enclosed space procedures.
Helideck Training
The offshore training facility can be used to provide OPITO approved helideck courses for those crew serving on very large yachts.
